Another fine mess

By oh great - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom - Doncaster

Today, my brother let me fly his two day-old, expensive drone. Within a minute I had crashed it into a potato field. Four hours of searching and we still haven't found it. FML

What are the uses of those drones? for spying on your neighbors/neighborhood?

I don't know what the majority of people buy them for, other than for simple recreation. As far as professional usage, my cousin is a farmer with a very large acreage, so it just isn't practical to drive out and monitor all the crops in person. In order to efficiently and effectively monitor his land, he has an expensive drone that can fly out and feed him live 4K video (or take still pictures) of the ground. Probably saves him a lot of time and money in the long run. Also, it's great for taking to family reunions to screw with the relatives, as I found out when he hovered it over people's heads.

If I could afford one I would fly it places that I couldn't walk--maybe over a river or into the forest to observe wild animals. But then again maybe not if it is that easy to lose.

it couldn't be THAT expensive. either way, ydi. why fly it if you didn't have the experience? you maybe should've started on something smaller?

Yes, it can and most likely was. Most of the drones you see in videos are 200-300+ lol.

You can get one for a minimum of a couple hundred dollars, but high-end drones can cost thousands.
