It's the kids own fault... No matter the age
I'd say blame is around 50/50 here...I mean, you should've been paying a bit more attention, it seems, but at the same time, the parent(s)/guardian(s) should be watching the kid.
How was OP supposed to avoid the kid? Even if she jammed her feet in the ground it was probably not enough to make her come to a complete stop and she still may have bumped the kid. Since she did not see him she was likely going backwards anyway so she could not see him. The only 50/50 fault here is between the kid and the parent(s).
Not your fault. That kid was stupid for walking in front of you while you where swinging
you're Not supposed to go near people swinging on swings for this exact reason. The person swinging often cant see you, and even if they can it's not easy to stop yourself on a swinging In a matter of a few seconds. The little kids parents should have been watching him or warned him of that
Ouch, is the kid all right? Shouldn't the kid get checked out for a concussion, or something? I hope he does...
Is the kid alright?

Sounds like It was the kid's fault anyways. You never walk in front of a person while they are swinging.
Poor kid. F His life.
