Today, I've suffered 3 months of my neighbor blasting his music so loud, it shakes my apartment floor. None of my noise complaints are ever followed up, but the moment I give him a piece of my mind, he calls the cops, and they threaten me with jail time over a few curse words. FML

time to record your environment and then file a noise complaint. if they don't follow up inform them that they'll be hearing from your lawyer

That sucks OP, maybe you should blast your own music and wait until the cops show up. then Turn your radio off and catch your neighbors in the act. or make them cookies and ask to them to turn it down nicely

This is why you avoid cursing when threatening or complaining. They're like trigger words to people. It's all they hear and it just makes them even more irate and unreasonable. Make your complaints or frustrated comments in a calm manner and you're much better off....

He did call the police you ******* idiots. He said none of his noise complaints were not followed up, as the police obviously never came.

try having to be up for work at 5 in the morning with neighbors partying until 1 a.m., lighting fireworks and shooting guns. at all times of the year not just independence day.

Irrelevant, you call the cops. By taking it into your own hands, instead of having the guy stop his partying, you're now defending yourself to the cops at 2am when you have to get up for work.

Really because you are innocent of NEVER cursing someone out at all or using any profane words while angry? Piss off. Regardless of if someone is crazy or not i'd have given them a piece of my mind as well if the cops did not do their jobs. Then i'd have gone and filed a formal complaint against the PD as well for not dong what they are supposed to do. You asked if it's "impossible" to confront someone and not swear? Get a life. You don't know this person. No i don't either but you are certainly in no position to ASSUME they can't not curse someone out. I'm more surprised that it took him 3 months to go down there and say something to him. I would have the very first night. And no i'd have not been polite.
