Benefits

Today, I overheard my mother and sister talking so I stopped to eavesdrop. I recently enlisted in the Marines, and they were talking about what they would do with the money if I died. FML

Ah man, that sucks. Change the beneficiary. Make it a nice charity. I know there are charities that helps our children of fallen Marines. Why not make them the beneficiary?

Ok first off to number 33-Ooorah is army not Marines. You would think anyone with a Marine family would know this but I guess not. The correct term ould be Semper-Fi. Second. If people actually read the comments they would know that the OP posted this becuase he thought it was funny. His mom and sister were just joking around. And as for the OP, thank you so much for joining the Marines. I support our military forces 100%

to number 33 Ooorah is army not Marines. You would think that anyone with a Marine family would know this but I guess I thought wrong. The correct term would be Semper-Fi. As for everyone saying the OP has a ****** up family maybe you should read the comments. He posted this FML becuase he thought it was funny. His mom and sister were joking. And as for the OP thank you so much for joining the Marines. I support the US Military 100%. Maybe not the government but I do support the Military.

oh that sucks someone must be loved...

well this may or may not be a FML depending on what they were saying. If they were saying "Oh I can finally get a new car!" then its a FML. If they were saying "We can use some for the funeral...*and so on*" then its not really a big deal. Thank you for enlisting.

#74-you're a ******* asshole. How could you say something like that-"Don't forget to leave a suicide note when you leave"? At least he has the balls to risk his life for his country. Hell, I have bigger balls than you do and I'm a 16 year old female. I'm also planning to go to the Air Force Academy b/c I want to be a fighter pilot. Think about what you say before you say something when you have no idea what you're talking about, pansey ass. My brother-in-law is leaving in 3 weeks for Afganistan and he just missed his daughter being born and won't be able to see her until he returns, which won't be for about a year. But, he knows what he is doing is honorable, not suicide, which is the coward way to die. To say something like that to any person about to deploy to fight for YOUR freedom is inexcusable. To the OP: Thank you. Good luck and God bless.

My sister is in the military. My parents are superstitious enough not to discuss her death in case it temps fate or something. Still, I've wondered that myself. I also worry about her getting kicked out for being gay (REPEAL DADT OBAMA!!!) and wonder if something DID happen, if I could start a PFLAG scholarship in her name. Good luck to you!
