A friend's parents met and married in the same day. They have been married for almost 25 years now and are the perfect example of what a marriage should be. So to those people saying op is dumb because he wanted to get married after a year, he's not. Op, hope you find someone worth your time, attention, and love.

But realistically, what you described never happens. IMO you can't possibly know someone well enough, trust them well enough to spend the rest of your life with them until at least a few months have gone by. A day? I'm glad it worked out for them but how could they have known each other well enough at that point? My guess is they took a leap of faith and it worked out for them; they didn't completely know.
