Biker troubles

Today, when approaching a stop light on my motorcycle, I went to extend my left leg as usual to balance when stopped. Apparently my shoelace loop got wrapped around the shift lever and "tied" my shoe to the bike. It's hard to look cool when you fall over for no apparent reason at a stoplight. FML

Today, I was cycling home. On the way, my laces got stuck in the bicycle pedals and I couldn't move the foot that got stuck. The bicycle fell over, with me attached to it. Everyone was looking at me like, "What are you doing?" FML

Today, I tried to be eco-friendly and ride my bike to work for the first time. I made it approximately three minutes before getting my shoelace caught in the gears, sending me crashing to the ground in a spectacular display of uncoordination. Now I have a sprained ankle and a newfound appreciation for cars. FML

Today, I was having motorbike lessons. We were parked by the side of the circuit when one side of my gloves dropped on the ground. I tried to pick it up without getting off the bike. I lost balance, fell off the bike and the bike landed on my leg, trapping me. FML

Today, I was spending some time alone out in the countryside, when I glanced at my boot. I saw a snake, screamed, ran like hell for my car, tripped over my own feet, and smashed my kneecaps. Upon further inspection, I realized the "snake" was my loose shoelace. FML

Today, as I was stood on an escalator, my shoelace got caught in the step. Panicking, I tried to pull it out, but my shoe came off. I had to awkwardly hop back down the escalator to retrieve it while everyone around me in the mall watched. FML

Today, while entering in my college building, I noticed that my right shoelace was untied and I tied it. I didn't realize that just in front of me was a metal beam until I hit my head hard on it and a loud, reverberating sound was produced. Many people saw what happened. FML

Today, I was on the train to work. I was up late the night before, causing me to doze off. When I woke up, I was at my station. I stood up, went to walk out of the door and fell flat on my face on a platform full of people. Someone had tied my shoelaces together. FML

Today, while riding my bike in the rain to a counselling appointment about my depression, my shoelace came untied and got caught around my pedal, causing me to go flying off my bike directly in a huge muddy puddle right in front of a busy street of people. No one offered to help me. FML

Today, I embarrassed myself by screaming for help in a crowded mall when my shoelace got stuck at the top of the escalator. Someone behind me kicked the shoelace and it came out easily. FML

Panic on the streets

Today, I was driving without my seatbelt on, when I noticed a police car approaching. I panicked and desperately fumbled around for my seatbelt, only for them to pass by with just a funny look. Then it hit me that I was riding my motorcycle. FML

yeah, umm, definitely consider investing in laceless, over the ankle footwear, sturdy-fabric footwear for riding... that could've been a much worse FML that you might not've been around to post :(

Yes, this. All The Gear, All The Time. The better one is *forgetting to put your feet down entirely* and falling over. I haven't done that one but I know people who have. On the other hand, one of the things I try to do to keep myself amused in urban traffic is to see if I can roll up to stoplights very, very slowly so I don't have to put my foot down before the light turns green. :-)

Hahaha at least they didn't see your face.. unless you weren't wearing a helmet. That's why I only use my lacoste shoes (velcro'd) when I ride my dad's bike!!!

well, i guess that's why some people (myself included) wear leather boots. mine don't have laces. though, luckily, on the rare occasion i wear my tennis shoes, that hasn't happened... yet.. lol sorry for your misfortune. i'm a fellow rider, so i know how you feel.

If you want to look cool on a bike wear ALL the gear. Gloves, Jacket, overpants, helmet and in this instance Biker boots. It doesn't just look good. It's all there for a reason as you soon discover anytime you fall. YDI for wearing lace up shoes. You're lucky you didn't get your foot torn off.
