Today, while talking on the phone with my long-distance boyfriend, he let me know that he was getting married in August to "some girl" for his papers. After I objected, he told me, "Well, you can marry me if you want." I'm not sure if I just got dumped or proposed to. FML

He's pretty much giving you an ultimatum. Either marry him so he can become a legal resident where you live or he'll marry someone else. FYL cause he should've actually proposed to you (if he didn't) instead of finding someone else to marry. To be honest it seems like he's using you big time. Dump him?

Wow what a jerk. Dump that sack of crap, seriously. I have nothing against immigrants, my mom was one after all. (She did all her shit legally though, and has been a citizen for I don't even know how many years). But this *particular* immigrant is, like I said, a sack of crap. You really don't need to marry a random person to get your papers, there's a lot of ways to go about it. But assholes wanna take the easy way out...

Wow. I have a long distance boyfriend, but he has never expressed an interest to marry me unless I want to marry him, and he's trying to get a 6 month VISA for a short stay without resorting to shit like that. I feel for you babe.

my dad does this all the time. marries someone from another country, they move over here and dump his ass. he gets pissed and broken up about it and im in the middle -.- dump him while you can.. so you dont have to go through all the hurt/complexities of the situation
