My thoughts were that they met in the US and now he's living elsewhere in another country, and needs citizenship for THAT country, and so marrying the OP would be completely useless. But I could be completely wrong, but just throwing that out there. Also, my friend's sister is Canadian, living in New York as an actress and she couldn't get her Visa without work, and couldn't get work without a Visa, so she married her gay friend. I think the worst part of this, regardless of where he lives and who this other girl is, is that he didn't talk to the OP about it beforehand or explain the situation. That's the only bad/untrustworthy part if he's actually in another country. If he's in the same country, that's just dumb.
Well, to clear things up... He is not an illegal. He is here on a baseball visa, but it expires at the end of the year. He either needs to get signed or he will get married for his visa. He is a foreigner, but I met him here, and have dated him for a while, but he is living in TX right now, playing ball. He is marrying to get his citizenship here, in the US. And, yes. The worst part was that he didn't talk to me first.
Holy crap my ex did the same... even stating the same date. it's not the same guy is it? lol
what a dick !
This was interesting.
he can't get legalized by marrying an American citizen. my best friend is married to someone in the navy and she still has to go through a long process of becoming legalized.
Confusing
He's clearly an system dodging benefit claiming scumbag!
wow, i would so leave him. what a tool

He doesn't wanna marry you, he wants to be legalized. You have been dumped, don't fall for his bs proposal.
He's pretty much giving you an ultimatum. Either marry him so he can become a legal resident where you live or he'll marry someone else. FYL cause he should've actually proposed to you (if he didn't) instead of finding someone else to marry. To be honest it seems like he's using you big time. Dump him?
