Today, at Jiffy Lube, a woman and her 4 year-old son were waiting at the checkout counter. As I walk by them, her son mistakes me for his father and holds my hand. The woman immediately grabs her son's wrist, looks at me, and says, "Sicko." FML

#47, I do agree that paedophilia is a bit iffy, since if a paedophile makes any advances whatsoever then they're automatically guilty of some sort of child abuse/molestation/statutory rape/BBQ, but so long as they can maintain self-control they are absolutely undeserving of any scorn whatsoever (more reverence, really, for being able to control such strong primal impulses and desires), regardless of whether or not they've come out of the figurative closet.

That's just what kids do. I mean, it's not like you grabbed the kid's hand and tried to run out the door. Or did you? & everyone needs to chill out. this shouldn't be a debate about sexuality. a mother overreacted when she saw a stranger holding her kid's hand. not smart, but understandable. that's all. =)

to elaborate on #57: it's actually smart for a mother to react with caution when someone she does not know is touching her child (even if the child initiated the contact).

#31, those are my exact thoughts. The only problem occurs if the pedophile acts on their impulses. Then we can let Dateline take care of that. But for the OP-- a simple, 10 second explanation would resolve your issue.
