Dammit

Today, after a month of planning, I started to tease my boyfriend of 3 years about the wonderful anniversary plans I had made for us. It was a secret, so I let him try and guess. He said, "As long as it's not a spa day. That would suck, I'd never go." It's a spa day. That I've already paid for. FML

FYL for already paying for it, but YDI for not knowing what he likes.

Take your best friend and get him something else and just don't tell him about your original idea. It's not that big of a deal. P.S. You'd think after 3 years you'd know if he liked spa days or not.

YDI for coming up with such a stereotypical present. Come up with something original and maybe then you wont be as f'ed

I'm saying YDI because I think only a gay guy would want a spa day. When you give someone else a present, it should be something THEY would enjoy, not just something you want to do with them.

YDI because you've been together three years and you still managed to buy him a gift that he hates. Do you even know this person? I hope he doesn't find out that it was a spa day and dump you for not paying attention to him. On second thought, i hope he does.

I love spa... yes I'm straight. Why on earth are straight guys not supposed to like spa... I had never heard that before in my life.

Why would you ever think your husband would want a spa day???

same shit happened to me when I bought my bf a hockey jersey

I'm sure it's been said, but I'm too lazy to read all the comments. YDI How could you not know that he would hate it after 3 years?

if he didn't know how is it inconsiderate? and if he did, then at least hes telling her he doesn't like it for the future. If he knows then at least hes giving her the chance to change it and go with a girlfriend.

This sounds more like a gift for you than a gift for him. True, most guys have an aversion to spas, but even beyond that, you should know him better than that after three years. YDI for being selfish, oblivious, and overly sensitive.
