Today, my father seems to be having an affair. A used condom was carelessly left on his nightstand and my mother found it. She refuses to believe that my boyfriend and I are not responsible. As punishment I am "no longer allowed to see him." We're both 22 and live together in our own apartment. FML

Today, while at my boyfriend's house waiting for him to shower, his mother slams a pair of underwear on the table and tells me that if she ever finds something like that in her son's room again, she is forbidding him from seeing me. The underwear isn't mine. FML

This kind of bullshit is exactly the reason I kept my boyfriend a secret and why I got a mortgage I can barely afford, just so I didn’t live with my dad anymore. FML

Don't listen to your mother. You don't even live at home. You are old enough to do what ever you want. I hope your dad owns up to his infidelity. Though you never know. The condom could have come from the man your mom is having an affair with instead. Either way. Good luck to all of you

I will list them: a) Why would OP be having sex in her mother's bed? She already has a bed of her own. b) Did she not assume her daughter would be sexually active while living with a man? c) And would she prefer her daughter to have sex without condoms? d) Has she not read Romeo and Juliet? You can't just tell "two young people in love" not to see each other. e) ...especially if neither of them lives in the same house. Did I miss any?
