Find a new job! Ethics too low! This mean you will get promoted or mis- deed can have you in deep waters! I would find another job and report to HR major ethics violations, and the threat.
And he has a business in Canada! I always thought that Canada was the devils country, now I have proof.
What's the law on recording where you live? I know it varies here in the US from state to state if you can't record a conversation without all parties consent or if just one is required, if you can get that kind of statement on record that's the kind of documentation to bring right to HR.
And accomplish what exactly? Although a very douchy comment to make, it isn't really against the rules. Although you could probably go for the 'hostile work environment' case, but that is a hard one to make and rarely gets you anything...
