Today, I found the birthday card my grandma had mailed. Apparently, it contained a gift of $100. Too bad it was in my mom's trash can, opened, with no money. She told my grandma it must have gotten lost in the mail. FML

Confront your mother and then pummel her until you get what you want.

wish I could say it was so, but I'm a mum and wouldn't dream of stealing from my son!

Good parenting :) Some parents think that their son/daughter "owes them." So they consider it okay to steal from them ~.~

I know I made 500 dollars cash once and was to young to get paid with a cheque so I told my parents to hold it for to days and they end up spending it.

My mother still feels entitled to my things, including my ex-husband. She always says that if it's mine, then it's hers as well. Some people have a very strange idea of what motherhood means. OP, I would confront her to get the money back. If she says no, then call grandma in to the situation. I'm sure that she would be pissed to find out that her daughter is a nasty thief.

I don't think that's the proper way to express feelings and communicate. :]

It's called "B!tch better have my money"

Tell mom to hand over the cash or you ate telling grandma the truth. Also remind mom that interfering with mail delivery is a federal offense.

I totally agree.... then clean the toilet with her toothbrush!
