Today, I took my girlfriend to eat out at a restaurant. We chatted for an hour, and it all seemed to be going well, until she told me that she wanted to break up. Waiting for the bill and driving her home was the most painful time of my life. FML

"Would you folks like any dessert? No? You sure? You make such a cute couple, maybe I could recommend the shared sundae?"

Good luck, OP. But you were a nice guy for still paying.

You should have walked out and made her pay then made her find her own way home

You should have called her a cab

Clever girl, she made sure she got a free lunch from it, she is probably humping one of your best mates

Waaaait wait wait. You actually drove her home? Why would you do that?

lol why the heck did you still finish the dinner, pay the bill, and drive her home? I would have left shortly after she told me leaving her with the bill and no ride home. And no that's not a rude thing to do in that situation. If you're going to break up with someone over a dinner date you have to expect that you're paying and that you need to have your own way home. She clearly had you whipped big time if she could still get you to pay and take her home.

Should have left her to pay the bill and left.

Dude I wouldn't have excused myself and left....

Why the hell did you drive her home????

I'm sorry OP. You sound like a great guy to me.
