Do you work at McDonald's?
It's a shame how often that happens. I have to do that on a daily basis, I'm still in high school.
Been there, done that. Sorry OP.
This should be expected if you work at a translation agency...
'the people I was training' ... erm dont you mean the people you were training? ???
Based on the way you wrote it, "the people you were training" is correct; however, "I" would be the singular noun that the verb "was" is clarifying, not the plural "people", so "the people I was training" is correct from OP's perspective. If you look at it another way, it's a shortened way of saying "the people that I was training", so the preposition is understood. If you look at it from yet another way, "the people Mark was training" sounds normal, but "the people Mark were training" does not. I'm sorry that this turned into a grammar lesson.
112 I'm glad you were polite about it, because I wasn't going to be
Well at least that means you're smart!
You were training them, so I'm assuming that they didn't know as much as you about the subject, otherwise they wouldn't need training. You're just a snob.
OP as a trainer myself and once an instructor for a difficult course, I can honestly say YDI. If none of your trainees understand what you are teaching the you are doing it wrong. As someone said, know your audience.
Um...Excuse me? Are you calling those people retarded? I work/hang out with special needs children in my school. I don't take that work lightheartedly. Too many people use that word for the wrong reason. Just because something is dumb doesn't make it retarded. Let me tell you this one thing. "Retarded" people (special needs, I still don't like the word) are smart. It may take a second for them to realize what they're trying to do. But they are really smart.

Look, if you're trying to teach preschoolers what the difference between a prepositional phrase and a subordinate clause is, you're going about this wrong.
