Fancy seeing you here

Today, my manager mentioned that she'd hired a "cute boy" to help me out at work with paperwork. The "cute boy" was my ex-fiancé and now I have to be with him in an office for 30 some hours a week while his current fiancée brings him lunch everyday. FML

Why is this guy automatically the bad guy for being the ex? She's the ex too. Maybe she was the dip shit in the relationship. Honestly, it's not that bad that he's working with you. I feel bad for you if this is all it takes for you to get upset. And for everyone saying "I hate all men" or "he sounds like a loser" should all go choke on a dick haha. None of you know what he may or may not of done wrong.

Just the fact that the OP has to see her ex for 30+ hours at work is probably awkward enough but seeing him happy with someone else makes it even worse especially if the OP still hasn't completley gotten over the break-up. OP stay strong and don't let this get to you. Wasting your time on revenge against either of them could end up hurting you way more in the long run.....you broke up for a reason and just keep reminding yourself of that and that you can do way better. If it really bothers you that much though start looking for another job.....maybe you'll find something better and be more successful :)

ahh misread HIS current fiancée. :-/ Still, you can do better than an assistant.

YDI for not explaining the situation to your boss. (As she obviously was thinking of you when she hired him, she probably would have foreseen the potential for problems and withdrawn the job offer had she known your history.)

you are all missing the point. the op isn't calling anyone a dick. no one is a dick here. it is just a shitty situation. very awkward and maybe even painful. we all go through breakups. I've never seen such a lack of empathy for such a commonly shared experience in my life.  on a side note, ninja I've thought that too! :x

Get the cute delivery boy to deliver your deli sammiches to work every day. "John, meet James, my new...erm...boyfriend."

I don't understand how people can be engaged to so many people in such a short amount of time. NO WONDER WHY THE DIVORCE RATE IS AT 50%! i hate people really.

It never said anything about how long it's been. You just assumed it was in a short period of time.

If your boss knows the "cute boy" is your ex-fiance', this constitutes a Hostile Work Environment. Sue the bitch.

FYL. Don't listen to these people here. If they were in this situation they'd understand, too. It doesn't mean you're feeling sorry for yourself. It doesn't mean you're not moving on, you probably are. No matter what, no matter how well you're moving on, this situation can open wounds. And to these stupid people who are talking about "going on the internet and whining" Umm.. isn't that what this website is for? Is that not what every person who posts a FML is doing?

ohhh lol..shit that sucks. you are such a god for being able to stand that... wait did you leave him or did he leave you? If he left you (which was probably the situation...sorry...) .....well....idk, i guess you have my pity. But its okay. i mean like you should try to move on, hes a bitch anyway. hes not worth it, don't cry. you should get a cuter boy and make him bring lunch to you everyday....

Why is it most likely the guy's fault? Also, why is he a bitch for NOT being over attached?
