Foot, meet mouth

Today, I was talking to one of my supervisors at my new job. He asked if I knew a professor at the school I recently graduated from, and I decided to babble on about how shitty of a professor he was and how much I loathed his class. He then looked at me and said, "That's my dad." FML

I recommend learning the phrase: "Yes, why do you ask?"

If he was asking about a specific teacher, it's pretty obvious that he knows the guy and that you shouldn't talk shit about him.

And you didn't realize that from their last names? Or similar features?

I once told a woman her boyfriend was a thief (I had personally caught him at my job) before she told me he was her boyfriend. If they're really shitty people, don't feel bad about saying it like it is.

So how does that foot in your mouth taste?

My dad's students either loved him or hated him, didn't seem there was any in between, so I've been in that supervisor's shoes. It didn't bother me, though, I knew how it was.

Was the last name not a giveaway?

If someone asks if you know someone else it's safe to say that they know them.
