Pizza > everything If his friends were expecting pizza, and he didn't deliver (excuse the pun) because he was distracted, they'd be understandably pissed. You can't just shrug off responsibilities for sex; especially delicious responsibilities.

If he was the host of the party, I can imagine him wanting to be with the guests to entertain them (or depending on levels of drunkenness, supervise them and make sure they don't break anything). I'm not sure how it is in other countries, but over here it's fairly regular for a host to stay with the guests rather than run off and do something else.

We learned about something like this in my mandatory college safety class, if you're in a situation at a party and feel pressured to have sex or frightened it's best to supplement an excuse to be able to get you or the other person to leave the room. So OP it sounds like you may have made him feel frightened or threatened, don't come on quite so strong next time!

Maybe take it a little slower with this guy? Some men would have been thrilled, some men will want to wait a little while. It happens. Don't take it personally and give him a second chance; and given this reaction, I'd probably let him take the lead next time as well... For the first time at least :)
