Today, I had to slowly explain to my boss that in some parts of the world, it's currently winter, due to the different hemispheres. He scoffed, accused me of "making shit up," and said that if I took him for a fool again, I'd be looking for a new job. FML

Today, I walked into work, after having given my boss a weather prediction last week, so he could decide on which day to open a new company division. I was immediately taken aside and written up for "providing false information, adversely impacting morale". FML

Today, I have the flu, so I called my boss to let him know I couldn't come in today. He told me to think my "lies" through better, and claimed that you can only get the flu during winter. So I guess I'm faking my pale skin, short breath, runny nose, and constant sneezing. FML

Today, I've been freezing in my office for days at work. When I finally complained about it to a coworker, she led me into my office, said, "Let me show you something," then pointed out the thermostat I'd never noticed was even there and turned it up with a pitying look. FML

I am amazed how many people on here are idiots. They call this boss stupid without thinking for a second that he is CORRECT!! The other side of the world may be day or night, but not winter when it is summer. Seasons are controlled by earths orbit around the sun not by which side of the planet you are on. Yes, even in Alaska this would be considered their "summer".

it's not about east or west, it's about HEMISPHERES (south and north) they divide the Earth in 2 halves (by the Equator line). So in the south hemisphere is always in the opposite season to the north hemisphere... you live in the north then u r in summer (june, july, aug). Here in the south is winter right now...

Not that I'm saying you're worng for knowing that, but your boss (and many others) don't like to look like idiots. Probably best to not flaunt your intelligence around them.
