Get back here!

By matte - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, whilst working at Subway, I took an order for 6 footlongs. The entire process took 15 minutes due to the customer's hesitant and glacial pace. When it came to paying, he pulled out his wallet, looked inside, looked at me, and walked quickly out of the store. FML

I gotta have to agree with #15 on this. Having worked at a pizzeria for 2 years, I've gotten alot of these instances, where the people order something and can't/won't pay up. Best example was a delivery I took to shit beat-to-hell apartment which was 2 large pizzas both with pepperoni and two 2 liters. Mind you, a large is 10 dollars and a topping is 2.25, and a soda is also 2.25. The lady had had a 16.99 coupon which was only good for 2 large PLAIN pizzas, everything else was extra. the total came to 29.42, and of course the lady was flabbergasted at the price, saying she had the coupon and it should be much cheaper. I gave her the itemized receipt and she refused to believe it was that much, saying we were robbing her and verbally and racially harassing me and my boss, calling us "cracka ass white bitch asses" (no joke). After about 20 minutes of arguing, she finally paid the price and I got the **** out. Sorry for the hijack.

I worked at Subway for over a year. Some customers are just ridiculous. I have tons of stories. Once a lady made me make a footlong over again because I used a knife that once touched mayo and her child is allergic. She failed to mention that to me BEFORE I cut the sub. The stories could go on and on.

awww OP. :( customer's are assholes. You think someone with logic would think about money before ordering 6 FOOTLONG SUBS. I hope it wasn't during a rush, because that'd be the worst. :

can't you just explain it to your manager what happened and eat them yourself or share with your co-workers? damn that really sucks though.

You get a bunch of free sandwiches now, not really that big of a deal. It's more of a fml for the guy who ordered the food and didn't have any money.

As a fellow Subway employee, I feel you, OP. Can't tell you how much working during the $5 Footlong promotion has made me hate rude, classless, cheapskate customers, either.

Omg, I would strangle that person -- I worked at Subway for a summer and I've worked at a deli at my university that is basically the same thing for two years. I feel your pain, I really do.

I worked doing gift wrap at a large store during the summer and Christmas. There is nothing more annoying when there is alot of customers and you get that person who spends 10 minutes picking out/asking questions about the wrapping paper and bows. Then they ask the price, after you put their damn presents in a box, which is free, but they already asked you to re-fold and do the re-do the tissue paper because they can see some wrinkles in the paper. Then they look at you and say "are you crazy" the people in line behind them pretty much wish that they were dead because everyone is in a hurry or is actually smart enough to pick something out of a line up of 16 choices. Then they demand their stuff back and make a scene and leave. It's not that it was annoying to work, it was annoying because people behind them will complain and for the 15 minutes I wasted helping them decide which paper is most appropriate for Great Aunt Myrtles 90th birthday I could have wrapped for 2 people and been on a third. You wasted other peoples time, not just mine. Paying customers matter more.
