The cops have done that to me, as well. Even when I was pregnant, and my mother sprayed perfume in my eyes, they still took her side.

It's actually kind of sad that even if a woman beats a man the cops will take the woman's side.

The comments on this FML disgust me. It doesn't matter if OP still lives with her. It doesn't matter that he is a man and she is a woman, and it doesn't matter that she is his stepmother. She is an adult and he is an adult. When an adult hits and gets violent with another adult, that is ASSAULT. When a woman hits a man, that is ASSAULT. When you get assaulted, you call the cops and press charges. The cop failed at his job here, you are not allowed to physically "discipline" your equals and other adults, that is illegal. Jesus, no wonder male domestic abuse victims are so scared to come forward. They're criticized and demeaned so much. When a male gets assaulted by a female, he's called things like "pathetic," "wimpy," "pansy," and "oh you couldn't even handle a girl." That is absolutely appalling. Assault is assault, no matter the circumstances. I personally think OP should've hit her back. She wants to dish it out, well she better be able to take it back, he would've been defending himself.
