OP I'm sorry to hear you have a MIL with major boundary and control issues. I hope your partner let's her know that what she did is not acceptable! I have witnessed how incredibly life changing and devastating opiod addiction can be on a person and their family so I understand her concern. However, she was way out of line. Get well soon!

Does your mother in law believe she is an MD? That's illegal and your mother in law shouldn't be handling your medications, especially if they happen to be narcotics. The only advice I can give is for the future: Don't let other people have access to your medications. Sorry, OP.
