The question to ask now is "how allergic". Hell I'm a little allergic to cats - I just don't care. There may be things you can do to help cut down on the allergic reactions, such as what you feed the dog and keeping the dog clean etc. Oh yes and OTC medications too. Check with the vet for advice.
ouch. well... its the thought that counts? Good for you for doing research .My grandma breeds pure bread dogs and lots of people only know that dogs are cute. They don't understand that they're expensive to maintain! = )
So? **** your family. The dog will always love you...your family prolly doesn't even love you RIGHT NOW! ....sorry...I ran outta cigs.
Too bad, but I think the kids will understand why you put them up for adoption.
I don't see anywhere in the FML that he took the dog back? Maybe he just doesn't want them complainning.. -.-'
replace your defective family and stick to the dog IMO

So... I don't get it. I have a cat that my family's allergic to.
Man, you people are haters. I'm sure nothing's ever slipped y'all's minds before. I understand why the OP forgot: if he or she's not allergic to anything, then checking for allergies wouldn't have crossed his or her mind. That really sucks about the dog.
