#36 adopting a dog isnt free - the op didnt pay 500 for the dog - 500 for dog, dog supplies, and toys. it also doesnt say i bought a purebreed - it says i adopted for my family - so some animal shelters charge for a neutered/spayed vaccinated dog - my dog cost 75 bucks from the humane society. op - i hope your family didnt have too bad of an allergic reaction and that you can find a home for the doggy.
well, yd losing the money because you should have just adopted a shelter dog. :)
This is a bit more permanent than medication - desensitization treatment. Get rid of the allergies themselves...
Get desensitization treatment - more permanent than medication...
I was allergic to my dog, but as the years passed my allergies died down.
wow why is everyone so hostile? allergies are a pain and effect everyone differently, and medications don't work for everyone. also they didn't say they were getting rid of the dog, just that they are allergic and even IF they do get rid of it who's to say that they wont give it to a friend or family member who will take good care of it? i didn't realize for YEARS that i was allergic to cats because the allergy developed later and because i hadn't been exposed to them long enough to have a noticeable reaction. i feel bad for the person and the family, cut them some slack
Get a poodle! Poodles are hypoallergenic and some can be pretty neat. OR a labradoodle! Because they have all the awesomeness and placidness of a labrador combined with the hypoallergenicness of a poodle. :D
I'd have kept it anyway.
For ones who said that they should have tested it. Really, I don't think allergy testing would come across their minds if they'd never been found allergic to something. C'mon, do you test if you're allergic to sea water before your first time to the beach?

So... I don't get it. I have a cat that my family's allergic to.
Man, you people are haters. I'm sure nothing's ever slipped y'all's minds before. I understand why the OP forgot: if he or she's not allergic to anything, then checking for allergies wouldn't have crossed his or her mind. That really sucks about the dog.
