Hammer-headed

Today, after ignoring my concerns and declaring that "safety equipment is for pussies", my husband went rock climbing for the first time. He only sprained his ankle, but is acting like it's broken. He's now playing video games in bed and pissing in a bucket, because walking is "too painful." FML

It seems like "walking's for *******" now.

His logic is sound. Video games cure everything.

His pain tolerance is that of a sissy. And acting like a pussy.

put a 12 pack of beer just far enough for him to have get up, bet he walks then

I've sprained my ankle twice and it's quite painful but I at least got a brace and walked around.

Just take the bucket away and unplug the tv. I'm sure he'll be walking then.

Tell the man to buck up, sip some water and take a Motrin. And OP I suggest you get back in the kitchen.

Spraining hurts more than breaking because you have to have a cast if you break it. But you can still move it if it is sprained. But my condolences have been sent to you.

Put it on Facebook for friends to see and he'll be miraculously cured.

People underestimate how damaging and painful sprains cans be. I sprained my ankle badly, so badly I could barely walk from my room to the bathroom. I also sprained my knee badly enough that I nearly needed surgery and had to go through physiotherapy for two years. So, OP's husband isn't necessarily being wimpy.

Sprains are proven to be more painful than breaks so I would give him a little slack. :)
