Healing

Today, I went to the doctor. I had a spider bite that had been getting progressively larger for days. I had been putting Neosporin on underneath the bandage that was on it. The doctor saw my wound and laughed. He said the spider bite was no big deal, but that I was allergic to the Neosporin. FML

Well, now you know. Stick to the old-school stingy peroxide stuff.

Does nobody sense the irony in this? It's like being allergic to benadryl... He got more infected because of what he tried to use to HEAL it. Some of you people say that the FMLs are too serious and shouldn't be on here cause it's supposed to be for fun, then someone posts an ironic FML that's actually kind of funny and you people bitch that they're whining! How about you enjoy the site for what it is?

#43 thank you. the situation is indeed very ironic. also i dont get why people get angry at serious fml saying THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FUNNY SITE. then if someone posted something ironic or a little funny mishap people comment KIDS IN AFRICA HAVE IT WORSE STOP WHINING. then theres the people all THANK YOU FOR WASTING MY TIME FML what the hell is up with that? you wasted even more time by deciding to leave a comment instead of just reading it and moving on. op. hopefully it didnt swell up too much and goes away soon.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!! I got a spider bite on my leg, it was really nasty. A week later the bite was getting better but the skin around the bite was getting worse so I went to the dermatologist and he said I was allergic to Neosporin. He also laughed at me, I think it was because I was telling him a 20 minute long story of how the rash came and wont go away but he didnt want to interrupt me even though he knew what the problem was. I guess its kind of a common allergy, I have to use polysporin now because it doesnt have the stuff Im/we are allergic to.

Exactly #46, if anyone would have bothered to read my earlier post, I had already pointed out the common allergy is not to Neosporin as a whole, but rather the neomycin found in Neosporin.

I agree it's more ironic than funny. But really... what's wrong with people? You put neosporin on, it got worse. You kept putting neosporin on, and it kept getting worse. Hello? As soon as it got worse the first time you probably should've stopped with the neosporin. How can you not figure that out for yourself?

Who would really think they are allergic to neosporin? I never would of thought of that. In my case every day my spider bite looked different, I thought it was just part of the bite. It must of also been the fact that I never used neosporin for more then a few days at a time, I have never reacted this way to neosporin before but I also never used it as much for as long of a time.

haha right #48. it's like duh. also, next time you get bitten by a spider. try going to the doctors first thing instead of trying to treat it yourself. in fact, neosporin can have negative reactions like this to the toxins in the venom. haha and people. stop whining about others whining. isn't that contradictory. lol.

Ugh, you "FML police" make me sick. Read the FAQ - all an FML has to be is something that ruined your day, or made you feel bad. It doesn't LITERALLY mean your life is f*cked. This guy felt like an idiot after the doctor explained the cause to him. THAT'S AN FML. You spend more time whining in comments than it took to read and ignore the damn thing.

your doctor looked at it and instantly knew you were allergic to the neosporin? uhm okay...
