Start your son early on not eating the kinds of foods that you saw on her plate, maybe every once in a while :)
I feel your pain op. My 5 year old points out things like that to.
Still, even so OP, you were being a good parent.
I have thyroid problems and I weigh 115. If you keep it under control with medication, diet and exercise, you really have no excuse.
Please join my 40000+ member thyroid disease group on Facebook and try making this same comment there.
Because your experience must be everyone else's..
Found the fatties
No, not really. I'm around 114 pounds at 5'4", sometimes less. I just understand that things affect different people in different ways. Just because you didn't have an experience doesn't mean someone else won't.
Your son has a good idea on health, but instead of teaching him things like genetics and thyroid problem you should probably teach him class and manners. It doesn't matter if she had fried food or not, it was ride for him to point her out like that.Maybe she hates herself and your son made it worse
That's a lesson that 65% of the commenters here could stand to learn. I'd say the words they've regurgitated from their superiority complexes have done far more harm to the human species than someone overeating. And history has proven that shaming fat people and smokers does nothing to contribute to ending obesity problems or smoking. It's a fact.
He knows some truth about obesity
And that when you tell your family this meal is your last unhealthy meal your going to eat and put them on a diet.
Some people just want to watch the world fry.
It doesn't matter how she got there. What matters is that you aren't cruel to strangers.
I actually agree with your son in a way. Go for a walk once a day or something. Eat less, move more, you'll be fine. I don't understand how someone so excessively overweight (not someone only slightly by a few pounds) can look in a mirror and say "... I'm ok with this." It's mind boggling. If you have a condition then it just means you'll have to work harder than other people. I'm not saying you're going to lose like 100 pounds or anything, like OP was saying genes and whatnot play a role as well but at the very least you'll be healthier if you take care of your body. Eat right and get excercise and not only will you look better but you'll also feel better. Never settle for less than your absolute best! Push yourself and never give up!

well, most obesity issues are the result of an unhealthy lifestyle
At least you tried...
