Help!

Today, after spending a few minutes de-icing my car and leaving the heat on so it would warm up, I slipped as I was entering the car and hit my head on the door, causing it to close and lock. I'm waiting for my mom who has a spare key to come and unlock it. Class started ten minutes ago. FML

Hopefully your teacher will understand, espically if you have bruises from falling and everything. It still sucks though.

Easy guys... I didn't tell her to never use any electrical device ever again. But starting your car minutes before you use it is kind of unnecessary.

pendatic: at the moment it's -5°C (around 22°F) and snowing, which means I have to scrape ice off my car windows every morning and have to turn the heat and ventilation on maximum when I drive off. But I don't have to start the engine several minutes before starting... Maybe it's a cultural thing... I don't know anyone who starts his engine early to warm up his car. But I often read it from american people

Yeah but -5 C is not cold at all. I have to warm up my car because it's usually -20C - -40C and my gear shifter is very sticky unless my car is warm. Plus it's not good to drive your car when it isn't warmed up if it's actually cold out.

Don't you need keys to start your car? annnd wouldn't those keys also work for opening it? Just saying, why did you have to wait?

the keys were in the car. so when the door closed and locked, the keys were locked on the inside.

You deserved it for wearing shoes. Kidding, that seriously sucks. One day wont be so bad, hopefully. Or you could have(and probably did) walk into class late, if you have enough time and your professor isn't like my anthropology one.

I find it hard to visualize how the OP managed to close AND lock the car door with her head. In most cases, you have to press the lock button, then close the door WHILE LIFTING THE HANDLE, not just swing it shut.

In my car, all you have to do is push down the nob and shut the door. If the keys are in the ignition, the door will unlock itself. If not, youre SOL. xD I know a few cars that do this. Maybe the OP has one too. That said, I don't know how she would shut her door by hitting her head. 0.o

My car locks when you swing it shut. You either unlock it with the keys (which would be in the ignition) or from the button inside (which only helps me if someone is in there).
