Today, my fiancée got out of the shower, completely shaved. I went over to her, wrapped her in a hug and asked her what the occasion was. She pulled away and said that she had a gyno appointment. My fiancée will clean up for the gyno, but not for me. FML

It's uncomfortable to go to the gyno in the first place. When you're a girl, there are always so many things you worry about. Cleaning herself down there, might help ease her worries a bit. And so what if she doesn't clean up for you. It means she's comfortable being around you and being herself.

Shaving that area is time-consuming and results in painful and itchy regrowth whatever the razor and however much shaving gel and aftercare you use. Waxing is just as painful. She probably shaved herself for the gyno because she was afraid of being judged, as our culture these days is obsessed with removing natural pubic hair, even though gynos have seen it all. It's just scary showing that to a stranger. Take it as a compliment that she's not afraid of being judged like that by you. :) Pubic hair is a symbol of maturity and can be very sexy. Each person should do with theirs what's most comfortable, be it nothing, trimming, removing some, or removing it entirely.

Maybe she was only pushing you away because she thought you wanted sex? If you're going to have certain exams they tell you not to have sex a few days prior to your appointment. She could have just been telling you about the appointment as a reason to say get away? I'm sure you'll get to enjoy the shaved bits in a few days.

#26---pubic hair is natural. so, in reality, shaving it is an unnatural act. it is a choice, therfore not having anything to do with gender norms, such as feminimity.

I agree with 95. Unless this is a common problem she probably pushed you away due to the appt. However, I would have used that as a chance to tease him for later. Do what makes you happy and only engage with others who have the same desires and beliefs. If you can't talk about sex then don't do it, period! My boyfriend would have been like what's wrong?

Omg Vag, your just a fool. Leg hair and armpit hair are also natural. Yet, shaving it is still a norm isnt it? In our society men like girls with little or no pubic hair, its a new norm. Get used to it. Then again, if ur to ugly to get a guy to even eat you out, let alone take your pants off, shaving wont matter to u.

IPreferBlondes it's actually pretty much only normal in Canada/America. Most other countries wonder wtf is wrong with you if you take a razor to any part of your body.
