#29--gynecologist. Women's doctor.
I nair, its faster and less painful. And it gets all of the stray hairs.
#22 I'm afraid you have it wrong, at least about the cleanliness part. Not only do gynocologists recommend that you DON'T shave entirely down there because it can lead to yeast infections and urinary tract infections, but the idea of hair = dirty is just something men have imposed on women because of what they deem as sexy. If hair was really dirty then why don't men shave their pubic hair, armpit hair, etc. You do whatever you want, but please don't impose the double standard on other women.
P.S. not all guys think that zero pubic hair is hot on women. I've known some who LIKE hair. It makes them feel like they're with a woman and not some prepubesent girl or prostitute.
Do you take the time to shave for her down there? If you don't, you have absolutely nothing to be bitching about. I don't think you have anything to bitch about anyway. For most girls, it is extremely time consuming and uncomfortable, and it takes a lot more efforts than for guys. And to whoever said it was "cleaner" to shave down there, actually, it's not. Pubic hair allows the, erm, area to breath better because it acts as a type of cushion (I can't think of the right word) between a girl's underwear and allows it to breathe better. So actually, shaving and then wearing underwear that doesn't breathe well enough (like most underwear) is actually worse.
#35 and #37 thank you. you two are like the only mature people here. to me AND my boyfriend pubic hair perfectly fine and preferred as long as it's trimmed. I keep mine cut very short. to me people that shave look like little children down there. there is nothing dirty about it. its perfectly normal and actually keeps bacteria away from the privates. I love how dumb people sound when they open their mouths obviously not knowing a clue about what they are saying
i agree with #35, 100%. i shave once and a while but i hate looking down and feeling like i'm five years old again. how is looking pre-pubescent attractive?
#35 - Well said. Pubic hair is perfectly clean as long as you shower regularly, which should be happening anyway. ;) There's also some evidence out there that suggests that some STDs like herpes are more easily spread when pubic hair has been removed.
i think guys need to stop bitching about if their girl shaves or not. if a girl is expected to do that, then why don't guys clean up for us? and i don't think it's uncomfortable, i prefer it, but still. and gyno's see it all, i really don't think they care if you do or not, as long as you are clean.

It's uncomfortable to go to the gyno in the first place. When you're a girl, there are always so many things you worry about. Cleaning herself down there, might help ease her worries a bit. And so what if she doesn't clean up for you. It means she's comfortable being around you and being herself.
Shaving that area is time-consuming and results in painful and itchy regrowth whatever the razor and however much shaving gel and aftercare you use. Waxing is just as painful. She probably shaved herself for the gyno because she was afraid of being judged, as our culture these days is obsessed with removing natural pubic hair, even though gynos have seen it all. It's just scary showing that to a stranger. Take it as a compliment that she's not afraid of being judged like that by you. :) Pubic hair is a symbol of maturity and can be very sexy. Each person should do with theirs what's most comfortable, be it nothing, trimming, removing some, or removing it entirely.
