House hunting

Today, I was supposed to see an apartment. Thirty minutes after I was to meet the owner, she still hadn't shown. I called her. When I got no response, I was annoyed and kept calling. Finally, she answered, said, "I'm in the hospital with my father. He just died. Please stop calling me," and hung up. FML

thats not really a fml, how were you supposed to know? most people would do the same if someone didn't show when they were supposed to. Don't feel bad!

She was very rude considering you had no idea what had happened and she was still the one breaking her appointment without notification.

honestly, she should have let the OP know.

It's not your fault she denied to tell you she was at the hospital with her dad, and instead kept hanging up. Although, I would be greatly pissed off if someone kept calling me and my dad was dead. :C

In a situation no one is at fault really, you cant expect her to be sweetness and light after her father died, but of course you shouldn't feel bad about calling her

I hope you don't feel at all bad about this, other than sympathy for the woman. She should have just quickly taken 30 seconds to say I'm sorry a family matter means I can't show you the flat. You probably would have been very understanding!

she could have called you to tell you! i wouldn't feel bad.

It was her fault for not canceling your appointment. How could you have known? Then again, she was probably preoccupied with her father dying...

If she can't take thirty seconds to answer the phone on the first try to say, "Hi, sorry but I have a family issue to take care of right now. I'll call you later to reschedule." then she's a complete and utter failure. No one deserves to be treated like shit, no matter the circumstance. To echo others here... how were you supposed to know?

Woman seems to be a bitch, can't take 20 seconds to inform you that something has come up and that the appointment will have to wait

I believe a couple of other posters have already pointed out that it would infact take 30 seconds not 20
