How did you manage that?

Today, I was driving my car like any ordinary day. My dad had been harping on me about not checking the oil, so I finally checked it. Driving down the road my hood flew up and shattered my windshield. I forgot to latch my hood after checking the oil. $300 for a new windshield. The oil was fine. FML

I think that along with a driving test, a "Simple car care 101" test has to be taken too in order to have a licence. If you can't take care of your car you shouldnt have one !

I don't think this is fake. Not everyone's car act's the same way.

I'm not too sure I believe this. How does your hood fly up with such force that it cracks your windshield but doesn't bend the pieces of metal keeping the hood attached to the rest of the car? Do you have some insanely huge hood scoop on your car or something?

Owned. sorry to hear about the windscreen. it happend to my dad a few weeks ago

If something as simple as checking the oil in your car is too much for you to handle then you should trade in your car for a bicycle.

ummmm.... yea, i think you stole that from "Tommy Boy"

btw... if it actually did happen to you.... you must not be from florida... its state law that the insurance comp has to pay 100% of any windshield repair. unless you dont have insurance..... then you shouldn't be driving anyway

Eh- that's your own fault. You should still check the oil every month or so. Basic auto maintenance. Just use the actual latch.

everyone i know gets windshields for free...FYL

yea in my state, if your windshield is cracked, the state replaces it for free. Mine has a few dents and cracks in it so i was gonna purposely break it to get a new one.
