I'm not a fan of [most] kids, but the blurting tendancy can't always be blamed on age. A lot of kids don't have filters because their parents don't, and they learn what's appropriate by example. Tact is a dying art.

Darkblade - you REALLY think you never said anything inappropriate? Unless you grew up a mute, you said stupid shit just like every other human in the history of the world. Cavemen babies said "Ugg!" at inappropriate times. You did the same thing. Don't act all high and mighty just because you don't like kids. For every inappropriate thing kids say, they say 20 funny, sweet, kind, or amazing things. But you don't hear about those as much, especially here.

Parenting of course has some effect, but being a child also has a lot to do with it. Even the most disciplinary parents have trouble with children sometimes. It's not like a child has the mental capacity of an adult, so they have to learn. I was a pretty good child, but I remember saying something inappropriate as a child. It was out of curiosity, not lack of discipline. In the grocery store I asked my mother in a whisper, "Mommy, why is that man's head so small?" Now, I know you shouldn't say stuff like that, but back then I thought it was just a question.
