In vain

By bcf1234 - 15/10/2010 04:06 - United States

Today, I waited in line at Subway. There were two people in front of me. The first lady had seven sandwiches and the second lady had four. So after patiently waiting, I ordered my sandwich, only to have my credit card declined. FML

Fat people have excellent credit. Is that the moral of the story?

Maybe she used her debit card, mine gets airline miles so I use it for everything... sucks that it was declined though. Fyl

Paying with a card is usually quicker than cash, you dont have to wait for your change or worry about dropping coins, etc. I always pay with a card, my money is direct deposited so I only take out cash if I need it. I never thought it was such a big deal.

I dont understand why everyone didn't vote that you deserved it... you obviously can't afford to eat out if you are financing a sandwich... let me guess- orchard bank card... 300 limit

Think about the guy behind you, he should be the one with the FML. "Today, at subway I waited patiently for the two women paying for their 11 sandwiches. After they finally got through, the guy in front of me had a declined card and threw a fi because of all the waitingt. I never did get my sandwich. FML."

YDI for going to Subway. You'd meet a better class of people at Quizno's.

I get what you mean OC but usually it's faster cause MOST places don't make you sign if the transaction us under 50$. I used to be a cashier at Target and cards are only faster if they have one of those "swipe and go" cards. Their cards don't work about 20% of the time anyway.

In my defense, I worked at a Subway before. Cash was ALWAYS faster than card, even after we got a faster Internet connection speed at the store. There's a few more buttons to hit for a card, more receipts to print, and the "checking for authorization" on the card if it's even valid. Much slower than someone handing me a $5.
