Eh, could really be that they were all just dicks about it. When I had my house-warming party I bought food and alcohol for all the people that were supposed to be there and only 12 of the people that said they'd be there showed up. I would hope this person actually got people who agreed to come before hand, but either way, it's always a bummer being convinced to hold a party/certain you'll have people there only to not have it pan out.

give her some slack!! Earlier this year I was going to have a small party, and I spent over $60 on it. At the last minute, everybody bailed!! It does happen in real life, so this could be true!

So now you need to ignore your jerk 'friends'. If anyone asks, tell them the party was a success! That you ran out of goodies and had to call out for pizza. Then never have the time to spend with any of them.
