Road not rode. Your suppost to ride in the road. That is why they made roads. Americans are stupid. Everyone roads are for bikes. The road or street as we know it was first designed for bikes. Bikes came along first. Autos, as we know them, were about twenty years after the bicycle. Still doesn't change the point. Cop tried to ticket a retard, made him piss himself. And he feels bad for himself. As he should. Cause he is a bad man. And should cry about it. A lot.
Where the **** do 95% of you commentors live that you ride bikes on the sidewalk? Welcome to the city- where bikers don't follow the laws anyhow, but police certainly don't let them ride on the streets. Lol.
I'd question your boss. I hate riding my bike on the street. What if a car is careless and runs someone over?
we have zero biking lanes, so uh, not riding on the street but hey guys, he's not the one that made the law... he's just doing his job.
That is the stupidest law ever. It's way safer and easier to ride a bike on the sidewalk than on the street. At least if you fall off on the sidewalk, all you have to worry about is a few scrapes, not being hit by a car. And I get really mad when I have to go around bicyclists on the road. Please continue to ignore that law, despite what your boss said.
Er, where I live, cyclists must use the road. I know this guy who got stopped by some police officers because he was riding on the sidewalk. As for kids on bikes... generally, they play on their driveways or yards. Most cyclists cycle closer to the kerb [but still on the road] because they're slower than cars, but it's fairly safe there for both the cyclicsts and the pedestrians. Once, I nearly got hit by a bicycle coming from behind me on the sidewalk. >_>; The guy actually cursed at me.

wow, that really sucks. its not your fault at all, how were you to know that the kid had down syndrome? You were just doing your job. Don't worry about it man
You shouldn't feel bad about enforcing the law, and you should definitely tell your boss what happened.
