Lawman

Today, my boss in my police department told me to start enforcing the "No bikes on sidewalks" law, which we usually ignore. I pulled up behind the first person I saw riding a bike on a sidewalk and flashed my lights. It turned out to be a boy with Down's syndrome, who was so upset he cried and peed. FML

wow, that really sucks. its not your fault at all, how were you to know that the kid had down syndrome? You were just doing your job. Don't worry about it man

You shouldn't feel bad about enforcing the law, and you should definitely tell your boss what happened.

You couldn't of known he had down sydrom but truely awful thing for the guy.

That is a total two for one right there, you gave the kid a biking on the sidewalk ticket and a public urination charge right? I know I would have. jk

i guess the helmet wouldnt have tipped you off and i could care less but i have seen quite a few collisions from idiots on bikes riding on sidewalks

#145, roads were made for horse and buggies not for bicycles. In my neighborhood, there were pretty much no pedestrians on the side walk so it was safe to ride and actually ENCOURAGED by local law enforcement for kids to stay on there. Outside however, bikers are legally supposed to be on the roads there are just too many areas where its too dangerous for them to ride. The speed limits over here are high, and bikers travel at speeds too low at areas with too little visibility. Bikes have bells attached for a reason, its far safer to be on the sidewalk unless you are in a place with very heavy foot traffic.

It's really not your fault. You were doing your job and you didn't know he had Down's Syndrome. Anyways people, I realize it's a stupid law. It really is. But he has to enforce it. It is his job. It would be really stupid if he lost his job for not enforcing this law.

Ah, the joys of modern society. Too many people being paid to do jobs they don't need to do. The awesomeness of capitalism - keep paying people for jobs that don't need to be done, and pretty soon you'll have to carry around a law book on how to walk properly. Maybe soon we'll all carry around books on what we're allowed to say as well. "Hey, doucheba.. er shit I mean, oh wait dam. $200 fine? Fine." And *bingo*, communism. All aboard the USA fail train!! And lets sue us some gangstas; they hurt my little feelings with their 'rap' and 'hip-hop' crap. I demand to be compensated!

Also, LOL @ #78 - 'ASatanistHobo' sympathising with the po'po. Yeah, thats real evil.

The more comments I read on this, the more I realise exactly how much of a 'police-state' the USA really is. You know thats basically a dictatorship right? You are willingly being controlled. Free my ass.

Hi, I joined to inform the world: Cyclists, in general, are cocks. As a pedestrian you see cyclists on the pavement with no regard for pedestrians and they run red lights when you're crossing - total cocks. As a driver you see cyclists running red lights, cycling too far in the middle of the road, not utilising cycle lanes well, not wearing visible enough clothing etc... Ignorant, foolish cocks. Conclusion? Cocks. The definition of ****? Short for cockerel; rooster; male chicken... Should I use pussy instead?
