Lawman

Today, my boss in my police department told me to start enforcing the "No bikes on sidewalks" law, which we usually ignore. I pulled up behind the first person I saw riding a bike on a sidewalk and flashed my lights. It turned out to be a boy with Down's syndrome, who was so upset he cried and peed. FML

wow, that really sucks. its not your fault at all, how were you to know that the kid had down syndrome? You were just doing your job. Don't worry about it man

You shouldn't feel bad about enforcing the law, and you should definitely tell your boss what happened.

aww thats sad. but dont worry about it, its your job

this laws pretty gay my town doesnt have bike lanes but then again this laws not really enforced so it doesnt matter

Kids with downs syndrome are HUMAN BEINGS, NO MATTER WHAT OBAMA SAYS. THEY CAN RIDE THEIR BIKES WITHOUT SOMEONE BREATHING DOWN THEIR NECK. OP: You enforced the law. Congratulations on not playing favorites and doing your job. However, if I were six or eight and a cop pulled me over and flashed his lights or maybe even siren, I would probably cry too. I suggest not flashing your lights, and just driving beside them and telling them to get off the sidewalk politely, and that if they don't you need to speak with their parents. People get off for speeding with warnings, why not this?

what the **** is wrong with all the people here saying it's a stupid law? It makes perfect sense. If you are too much of a pussy to drive on the street, don't drive. What if a car driver would drive on the sidewalk because he was afraid of hitting other cars? would you still say that's perfectly ok? Isn't there something like a drivers test for bycicles in america? If there isn't, there should be one. In other countries, kids lern that stuff in elementary school. It kinda shocks me that so many people diddn't know that was a law. But OK, what can you expect from a country that lets people drive a potentially deadly vehicle from the age of 16 and go to the army from the age of 18, but doesn't let em drink until 21? Also, a retard shouldn't drive. If he starts crying and pissing himself because of some headlights, do you really think he could handle driving safely? He's a danger for himself and all other people on the sidewalk and possibly on the street. I hope OP gave him a ticket.

Just for the record, you can't compare riding/ (Or as you put it) driving a bike to driving a car
