you shouldn't have texted, that never works unless they are in love with you. remember, nobody that you would find deserving would make fun of you or laugh their ass off. plus, face to face conversations have their own sort of closure that you can't get with texting. it might be hard to start, but once you do, it'll come easy. and you can just be like, "hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" if you don't want to do it in front of other people.
