Make your mind up

Today, I went to work despite having a nasty cold. I didn't call up sick because last week when I called in, my boss said I was being "unprofessional and unacceptable." My boss sent me home with a written warning today, claiming that coming to work sick was "unprofessional and unacceptable." FML

That's his boss we're talkin about. Doing what you said would probably get him fired...

Sick twice in 2 weeks? Yeah, I wouldn't want you on my staff weakling! Seriously, I'm sorry you get sick so often but that is totally undesirable in an employee.

Maybe OP was only sick with ONE illness (i.e. a bad cold or the flu). OP wasn't necessarily sick twice in two weeks. Thanks for jumping to conclusions, though. I love that in an employee. Sometimes people can't help getting sick. I know a person who had cancer, went through chemotherapy, and now his whole immune system is shot. Are you saying it's his fault he gets 6 illnesses including colds and the flu, a year? I think not.

Damned if ya do, and damned if ya don't.

Your boss is a cnut! Complain to your HR dept. Or get another job...

wtf? This boss needs to make up their mind. Perhaps someone should tell them they're unprofessional and unacceptable.

Next time, call in dead. Tell us what happens then. :)
