Merry McXmas

By myjobsucks - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, I found out that I'm working on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I'm spending my favourite time of the year working for $8.70 an hour. At McDonald's. FML

Actually you'll get double time. And I get 12.80 an hour standard at 17 years old.

Give up holiday time to work at McDonalds. Your priorities seem to be in order.

They seem in order of he needs the cash...

There are plenty of better jobs than McDonalds. And most of those better jobs are humane and let people enjoy the holidays...so.

There may be better jobs out there, but it's a way of having an income nonetheless... Fast food may not be your first choice, but unfortunately it's one of those places that hire you when no others will... Or fortunately depends how you look at it...

Should have requested off. I work all those days but I'll be getting double time for some if those days. Well worth not having a life.

at least you HAVE a job. it's alot better than being on unemployment.

Dude, I worked at McDonald's. Get out of their while you still can. I can get you a job of you're willing to move to Canada.

It's colder, but the animals aren't as poisonous.

Bummer. OP if you need the money then go. It will suck. If you don't need the money that badly the. Skip and spend time with family and friends.

I'm just wondering, what kind of fat lonely bastard would go to Mcdonalds on Any of those 4 days

People traveling for Christmas. People with a hangover for new years.

Ooooh also other people who have to work those days may stop there for a meal. People who don't celebrate the holidays. Anyone who's lost their family, doesn't have anyone to celebrate with, and doesn't want to be home. Just some suggestions.

I agree, It really does suck that you have to work on all of those holidays. But, at least you have a job in order to enjoy your days of with your family. Just reschedule your Christmas dinner so that you can spend time with family, that is if your family is small. But, in all seriousness, you should be thankful that you have a job, especially making over $7.00 an hour.
