There is a such thing as seniority! Even if he did request off he might not have still gotten it because of people who were there longer than OP. Their requests would be honored first. And to the person that said reschedule your dinner, you can't reschedule Christmas!! OP, two choices: suck it up and go for your crap check or don't go and prepare to look for another job!

My comment would be monitored. Suck it up la la. Welcome to the real world. I bet you would love to go back to school now. Just be thankful you are not providing for a family on that wage! I know people that do,and every day they push to better themselves. Hang in there!
