Mother of the year

Today, I'm sitting in agonizing pain following a scoliosis surgery. I have a bunch of painkillers that I need to suppress the incredible back pain, but looks like I can't take any, because my mom has hidden them from me because she thinks I need to be taken off them. I wish my doctor was here. FML

Smack that bitch upside the head. Then apologies, saying that it's just that you're in so much pain that you have no control over yourself. Mothers like to play the guilt card to get their way so take a page from their book and turn it back on her! ;-)

ok everyone theres a difference between getting hooked on meds cause of real pain and getting hooked on them for no reason. surgery is one of those "needing pain pills" moments. not everyone gets hooked on them ive taken narcotic pain meds for 7yrs and if they alternate them everyonce in a while u dont get hooked. i have no problem going a few days or a week without one when i feel good.

I had a spinal instrumental and fusion surgery which took 10 hours! In addition I had two additional surgeries concerning my spine, that took 3 hrs each! I was in the hospital for 45 days and now have 2 metal rods and 14 nuts and bults in my back! Oh & I celebrated my sweet sixteen bday in the emerg

I had spinal fusion surgery a few months ago as well. Trust me, as long as you're not taking the meds more often than they say to, you won't become addicted. Tell your mom to call your doctors. They, not she, are the experts. The doctors told me that I could also take Tylenol, so you can try that if she won't give them back. I hope you feel better...I know how it feels! And btw, even though it seems SO bad at the moment, in about 3+ months, you'll be better than you've ever been. :)

your mom sounds like a dumb ****. cut her. teach her good.

I feel your pain. Mine was an 87 degree curve on top and a 63 degree curve on the bottom. The pain was terrible for me. I would bitch slap your mama for taking away your medicine. But on the plus side, with the rods in place, you'll always have wonderful posture :)

Wow, that is crazy. I have thoracic lumbar curves as well. Was 42° at the top and 36° at the bottom pre-surgery.

kick your dad in the balls and punch your mom in the face for their terrible genes.

I hate when parents do that... When my now wife got her wisdom teeth out when she was younger her mom did the same thing with her pain pills which she conveniently "needed" for her back.. My wife's mother is worthless..

I had a spinal fusion back in 06, I know your pain. Your mom should have realized she was doing you way more harm than good. Surgical spinal pain is freaking excruciating. 

I also found out I am allergic to morphine when I had my surgery.
