Never grow old

By Crystal - 08/03/2010 21:35 - United Kingdom

Today, I showed my fiancé the darling Tinkerbell hoodie I'd bought myself during the weekend. Instead of liking it as I'd hoped, he told me my childish wardrobe was embarrassing, and he wasn't going to be seen in public with me until I wore something different. FML

Most people who generalize are douchey bigots.

Guess that means he doesn't want to be your Peter Pan.

awe. I'm sorry. I think that it's a dick move for him to do that. he's an asshole.

100% not sexy. Cute? Sure - but not sexy. Fail.

To everyone who has been being rude and to everyone whose parents EVER IN THEIR "ADULT" LIFE wore anything from looney tunes, mickey mouse (and any crew member) any shirt with sayings or fun designs on it: try saying everything you wrote to the OP to their (your parents) face and see if you don't get a slap in the face and a shove out the door. if you can't get away with being a jerk to your parents why the heck would you think it's ok to do it to a stranger and COMPLETELY judge that person when you know nothing of the situation except what she wrote? i bet over half of you at one point have glared at people for "judging you" too. a bunch of hypocrites. that's all you are. p.s. i'll bet over half of you have wardrobe items that have something "childish" on it. if not you must be over 60. in that case, don't you have something better to do? OP: personally, i think that you should most likely change your wardrobe or at least renovate a portion, it sounds like your fiance is overwhelmed with the disney and not everyone has the same appreciation for it as you may have. learn to compromise, you're gonna have to learn to if you're getting married anyways.

Never in my life has the thought of wearing tinkerbell anything crossed my mind, and I'm not even old enough to marry.

YOU DESERVE IT because if you are old enough to have a fiance, you are old enough to start acting and DRESSING like a woman, not a child. I have NEVER worn anything with any random character since I was at least 12. Come on people! It's time to grow up!

that's mean!! i'd dump him if he was gonna be that expectant of you. in most cases its the girl that tells the guy that. and he just dumps her. u should do the same.

woow.. think of ur fiancé n place urself in his shoes... my soon to b wife is wearing children clothes.. wouldn't u b embarrised if he wore pooh bear in public with you?

I'd love it if my husband wore a shirt with Pooh on it. I love Pooh. :D

And he's absolutely correct, unless you're twelve years old and he's a Mormon with a harem of child-brides.

"Darling" Tinkerbell hoodie? I'm sure you're the kind of person that would constantly buy costume-themed outfits for her children well out of infanthood, though from the looks of things your man wouldn't allow it. Hopefully he won't cut you much slack past a certain age, lest you mentally scar your kids and embarass them throughout their childhood. I'm reminded of A Christmas Story and Ralphie's hideous bunny outfit, and his dad screaming "TAKE IT OFF!" as he runs back up the stairs. You would love that shit, wouldn't you?

Probably would have ended differently had the hoodie been the only thing you were wearing! Anything else was a wardrobe malfunction. YDI!
