Never grow old

By Crystal - 08/03/2010 21:35 - United Kingdom

Today, I showed my fiancé the darling Tinkerbell hoodie I'd bought myself during the weekend. Instead of liking it as I'd hoped, he told me my childish wardrobe was embarrassing, and he wasn't going to be seen in public with me until I wore something different. FML

Most people who generalize are douchey bigots.

Guess that means he doesn't want to be your Peter Pan.

I love Tinkerbell, and I see nothing wrong with having one item of clothing featuring her. If you have a whole closet full of clothes like that though, your husband might want to give What Not to Wear a call. And a good rule of thumb - if you describe something as "darling," it's probably meant for children.

YDI. I don't even know why they make clothing with Disney characters on it for adults. It's ******* creepy. If you like Tinkerbell so much, why don't you get a poster or a key chain so you can still express yourself but you don't embarrass your husband either.

the fact that you called your hoodie darling tells me YDI

if that's ur bigest reason for YDI then I really think u should a) grow up b) find a girlfriend/boyfriend whichever u want and c) get a vocabulary cuz it works fine for a word to discribe ur hoodie

OP - wear whatever you want, so long as it suits your figure and your entire outfit isn't tinkerbell, I don't see a problem. Hey, maybe Disney characters are your trademark. As long as you're not getting a huge Mickey Mouse tattooed on your neck or boob or inner thigh, it's not trashy or immature. (Yeah, I've seen those). Hell, a tinkerbell tat on your shoulder would actually be quite cute (imo), although I personally like my sons skulls better: one one the left shoulder with horns, one on the right shoulder with a halo. Anyway, your boyfriend was really rude about it and I would re-think him telling you part of who you are is embarassing. Everyone else: come on, she's wearing a tinkerbell hoodie, not running around knifing people and raping baby animals, Jesus

I agree with TryToBeKind. It's her opinion, not yours, and even I think some of the Disney clothes for adults can be nice. Plus, she only said it was a hoodie, not that she obsessed over Tinkerbell, and had a spare room made up for whenever she wanted to visit. OP, wear whatever the hell you want, if your fiance has a problem with it, you can tell him where to shove his hate of Tink or any other Disney characters. As 383 said, by saying that, he proved himself to be rude, and even more immature. Tell him to grow a pair, if he refuses to be seen with you for wearing a Disney hoodie, then tell him that's fine, you have friends who will go out with you no matter what you're wearing.

tell him you dont want to be seen with someone who takes life too seriously and leave his @ss. find soomeone who will stand up for you instead of suppressing you.

Riddle me this - if it were a low-cut tank top with a slutty fairy on it, how many of you would call "lame and childish" and how many of you would change your opinion to "hot and punk"? Is it just Disney that makes it childish, or anything supernatural?

Nothing is "punk" about a cheap Tinkerbell tank top. In fact, nothing is punk about anything that is sold at Hot Topic.

Definitely Disney. And nothing Disney should ever be slutty anyway.

verylsin: Ummm, you HAVE to be young. 28 is not old. I'm 27. There are girls that I know that are older than me that are smoking hot. One of my best friends is 45 and could still pull off sexy attire. Your actual age has nothing to do with how you age. For reference: Kate Beckinsale is 36, almost 37. Are you saying she shouldn't wear anything lowcut because she's too old? Sandra Bullock is 45, going on 46. She still has an amazing body. Halle Berry is 44, going on 45.

if you are over the age of 20, you should not be wearing Disneyland attire, especially a tinkerbell hoodie. It is childish and is only reserved for birthdays and random childish events, hence the childish statement.

then ur bfs a douchebag who can't let u express urself u should dump him

my husband hates it when I wear clothes that are too grown up..lmao. Tell your fiance to take the stick out of his ass and relax.. Life is too short, do what you want.
