No empathy

Today, it's been a week since I was dumped. I planned to stay at my apartment, cry, and eat chocolate in peace. My roommate decided to have loud sex with her boyfriend in the apartment. She refused to quiet down, saying, "My body, my rules." FML

Just say "my body, my rules" back at her and stand in their room, or sit!

So... **********? That's one way to get over a failed relationship.

Hm, that's not really how that should work, honestly. But at least you can play really loud music - I'd suggest playing something that's really weird to hump to. Like System of a Down or something.

Yes, or "Down With the Sickness" is a sure way to put a stop to their happy bump time...

That really depends on the music they like. If they're into the whole System of a Down and Disturbed scene, try Justin Bieber, or maybe the weirdest most experimental industrial music you can find as some of that gets REALLY weird... As loud as your stereo can do it. Make sure to have earplugs or earmuffs op! ♡

One day she'll be upset and want your support and now you know not to give it to her. Sorry OP x

Maybe your roommate just doesn't like you?

There's just such idiocy behind the concept of "my body, my rules" here. Like, does she honestly feel that excuses her obnoxiously loud sex?

Roommates suck. I recommend going out and doing something you enjoy or listening to music in noise canceling headphones. Don't worry, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Enjoy a period of time with yourself. Sometimes you're better off alone for a while.

I'd bang on the wall and interupt them....

I'm sorry OP, this situation really sucks. Your roommate should be more considerate. :( For some ideas on what I'd do if I were you: put on headphones and listen to music, go to the library or a coffee shop and read a book, or, go over to a friend's place. When I got dumped a year or so ago, it really helped to get out of the house and be around other people. I know it's hard, but you'll feel better soon, OP.

Play music or something. You're sharing a room and perhaps you had your share of noisy sex she had to listen to. There's always the option to go somewhere else by yourself if you can't handle the home environment
