Nope

By Brrrb - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - Singapore

Today, I passed by a small shop and decided to go in to look at the jeans. Before I could even step in, the shop owner told me expressionlessly, "All the sizes here are too small for you." FML

Should have replied "No, your jeans are too ugly for me... a bit like your face" Childish I know.. but they seem to have more fun then us adults so why not. ;-)

That was nice of the owner, making sure you didn't waste your time. ;)

To the person who said they went into Express and was upset when everything was too small for them -- I work there, and it's just as embarrassing for the sales associate who has to tell you we don't carry your size, believe me.

That was a douche thing for him to say. That wasn't any of his buisness

why does everyone assume it's a guy. im thinking a girl can probably guess a girls size a lot better than a guy

KingAwesome must have to shop at the husky store. Next time, reply with something incredibly bitchy

I have hyperthyroidism--which mean I have an overactive thyroid gland in my neck. Basically, it is very hard for me to gain weight. Right now I'm 19 and I weigh about 95 lbs, but I go to the dcotor and they assure me that I am still healthy despite my weight. But I absolutely CANNOT STAND when people make fun of me and call me a "skinny bitch" just because I cannot gain weight. I never say a word to anyone but it makes me mad--especially when it is the bigger people who make fun of me because supposedly I think I am better than them because I am skinny.

#28 what defines you is not your size. It is your personality. Being skinny or being fat is a none issue for me. Screw the people who call you names. ps can i have some of your over active thyroid? rolf.

Asking for people's diseases and problems and acting like it's a good thing is awful. She clearly has a problem with the overactive thyroid and you idiots are asking to be less healthy so you can be underweight. Nothing is wrong with being underweight but it's an asshole move to act envious of someone who has a problem like that. Next thing you know you'll see people saying "can I have some of that bulimia?". I know this is an exaggeration and you all weren't serious but it's insensitive. I don't care if I get downvoted.

if you're going to be fat and bigger than most, then perhaps you should be able to judge your size a little better.

@30: It could've been a poorly-labeled 1-3-5 store.

Who buys jeans for someone else, unless it's your mother buying clothes for you? I think most people would assume that a person entering a shop for jeans was buying for his/herself unless accompanied by someone else or looking in the wrong gender section. He was just trying to save you time. Don't fyl over it. He could have been more tactful about it, but I doubt he was trying to be unkind. Retail is a stressful work environment, and it can be frustrating to watch someone tear through piles and racks of clothing that will not fit them after you've spent hours organising and re-organising the stuff.

This has happened to me too, and I told her I was actually shopping for my niece and looking to spend an obscene amount of money, but thanks to her rudeness she had lost the sale. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman as I turned around and walked out.

I honestly don't think they'd care if you didn't buy their stuff and walked out.
