Great movie. Stupid FML.
win
This one is confusing. You mean he compared your search for knowledge to Tom Hanks leaving the island on a raft and getting rescued a few days later? And then returning home to everyone being happy about finding him? Ummm... so your advisor suggested you'll be rescued soon and people will rejoice? Stop trying to write clever FMLs and just get to work on your thesis.
Kudos #21 and O.P. It's refreshing to see someone else pursuing a higher education. Though it is SAD that half of the commenters don't understand what it's like to pursue a higher degree than your high school diploma.
@ #49: I completely agree with you but, you sound like an arrogant prick.
so what are you implying, exactly? That people making fun of the OP for complaining about their workload aren't pursuing a higher education? Well, news for you, that's not always true. I'm in my second year of college, personally. Idk about everyone else, but methinks you should do your homework before making ignorant assumptions like that.
Agreed. And a thesis is supposed to be hard work. Some people skip their thesis and complete it the next year so they'll have more time for it. Don't complain. Be glad you got this far. But really, if you're complaining about the workload for your thesis, I don't want to know how little you did the previous years.
That's what a thesis committee is for-to protect you against nut job advisors!
Is it a thesis on volleyball psychology?

I'm not quite sure that's an FML. I wish there was a "So what?" button right about now. Oh, and of course...first.
...and? but anyway.. Tom Hanks was awesome in that movie, you should be excited about being compared to him.
