Oh dear

Today, I hit a dead deer that had been left in the middle of the road. My car started to make a funny noise and smell, so I pulled over to check it, thinking I blew the tire on some antlers. The deer had got stuck in my front wheel, and I'd dragged it more than a mile. And it wasn't actually dead. FML

That poor animal! My goodness, I hope you put that deer out of it's misery. I hope it didn't scar you too badly, I'd be a wreck if that happened to me! I can't even drive by roadkill without shuddering, feeling nauseous, and getting goosebumps ]:

I hope once you realized that the deer wasn't actually dead, you didn't just chuck him/her off to the side. I really hope you called for help or something. Poor deer :(

I hope you called the cops after. I know where I live, it's required that you call the police if you hit a deer or other animal. If it's alive they come and they shoot it in the head to put it out of it's misery. Just hope the cop knows where that spot on the head is otherwise they hurt the animal even more. If it's dead they contact people to come and clean it up. I know how some of you feel about getting nauseous over dead animals. I was on my way to the hospital once and saw a large shape in the middle of the road. As we got closer, I realized that the truck that was pulled over to the side of the road had hit a deer, and the poor thing was still alive but just lying there yet trying to get up. It made me cry a little bit to be totally honest. To think about some poor deer getting dragged a mile down the road while still alive just makes me cringe.

You got me thinking, if you're driving a car and a deer is caught in the tire, wouldn't there be some sort of pulling to one side? I mean, I guess it depends on the size of the car but still, I just wonder.

I can see how u'd have no choice but to hit it: a friend & were driving to work one day, the speed limit is 55 & we got cars behind us & cars nxt to us goin the opposide direction. There was this little family of raccoons that almost made it accross but we couldn't slow dwn or we'd have been hit :(

Cont. From #143: we both felt terible :( we took out the little baby one :( she almost had a panic attack..& I was trying to calm her dwn cuz she was driving :( idk about not seeing a deer when she and I saw this tiny baby raccoon :/ that seems odd...and made up..
