Panic! At the high tea

Today, while researching tea etiquette for Sunday's tea, I read, "To put milk in your tea before sugar is to cross the path of love, perhaps never to marry." I suddenly panicked that this very lack of knowledge is why I haven't met a man who wants to marry me, and that I never will. I'm only 23. FML

An even better reason to do sugar first is that the higher the temperature of the tea, the better the sugar will dissolve. Milk will cool it down a bit.

I always put the sugar in the glass before I even pour the coffee/tea. I don't even need to stir it that way.

That's my reason too. Probably overthinking it, but I also hate seeing people put the milk in before the sugar. Or sweetener. And people who add milk and sugar before taking out the teabag are just gross. Even worse is when they leave the teabag in while drinking their tea.

I don't actually sweeten, just milk. Hope that doesn't screw me around somehow!

I leave my teabag in while I drink the tea sometimes. I buy those stringless tea bags, so i'd have to either stick my fingers in my tea or fish it out with a spoon. Too much hassle.

Same here :) I would hope it still counts with honey vs sugar. Honey with tea and cream is amazing!

It's all lies OP. I put milk in first all the time for years. I got married...then divorced, a couple of times now. I am reading the singles ads while drinking tea this very morning.

I wouldn't take stuff like that to heart. I find it highly doubtful that your love life depends on how you make your tea.
